Most clients enjoy smoothness for three to six weeks depending on hair growth cycles, hormones, and aftercare. Regular waxing can extend time between appointments as hair grows back finer and sparser with consistent treatments.
You'll feel a quick, sharp sensation during hair removal, but discomfort is brief. Many clients prefer waxing because pain decreases with repeated sessions and waxing avoids daily razor nicks, burning, and frequent upkeep.
Arrive with clean, dry skin and avoid heavy lotions or oils. Hair should be about quarter-inch long for effective removal. Exfoliate gently two days before and avoid sun exposure or retinoids for a week prior.
Mild redness, temporary sensitivity, or small bumps can occur but usually subside within a few hours to a day. Follow aftercare: avoid hot baths, heavy sweating, and exfoliate after 48 hours to minimize irritation and ingrown hairs.
Some medications or topical treatments increase sensitivity and risk of skin damage. Consult with your esthetician beforehand; disclose retinoids, acne medications, or recent chemical peels. If unsure, get medical advice to ensure waxing is safe for your skin.
Every three to six weeks is typical, depending on your hair growth and desired smoothness. Track your regrowth to find the ideal interval. Regular appointments help weaken follicles and may lengthen time between sessions over months.
